Summary
This entire collection was scanned as part of the 2016 Carnegie Grant including drawers of negatives and oversized photos, kept separately.
Additional items were donated digitally by the Newark Public Schools Historical Commission in three batches. First, similar Board of Education photos to our collection. Secondly, a group of photos from 2018 taken of school murals. Thirdly, class photographs photographed by NPSHPC from their collection.
Additionally, one class photo was donated by Jan Rohn, Chestnut Street School 1886 and is in processing for the Newark Schools Collection (MG Nwk Schools).

Processing Information
Photos from the Library collection are numbered 1-6732 and the number is in the identifier and local field, with many numbers skipped. These photos were scanned as 600 dpi tiff.
The first group of NPSHPC donations is in a folder called "NPSHPC School Photos" by topic. Identifiers (URL after archive.org/details) start with NPSHPC.
Mural photos were donated as JPGs and are named with captions (again found in the local field) in folder "NPSHPC School Photos/Murals 2018". Identifiers (URL after archive.org/details) start with NewarkMurals.
