Scope and Contents This is a collection of materials donated by the Ironbound Community Corporation, a group located in the Ironbound section of Newark. Founded in 1969, ICC works “on a range of neighborhood issues -- from affordable housing and economic development to safe streets, clean air, and educational opportunities for adults and children,” according to its Web site. Scope and Contents

Much of the collection pertains to Branch Brook Park, Newark, NJ, including materials related to The Newark Cherry Blossom Festival, Historic Register Nomination, Branch Brook Park Alliance, Essex County Parks Department, and research used in Galop’s co-authored book.

There are also materials on the Essex County Park System as a whole, as well as individual parks and projects. Additionally, Galop collected some materials on preservation in Essex County.

Abstract

The collection consists largely of photographs, documenting both Villani's personal and family life and his public activities. There is also some film of family holidays and leisure pursuits. A series of scrapbooks contain clippings, ephemera, and election records.
