Howard Best Photograph Collection
Scope and Contents
Most of the photos are of school and education related subjects. Many show local Newark and New Jersey politicians and officials, as well as specific events in Newark, for example, the rededication of Lyons Avenue School at the Newark Museum in 2007, the opening of the new Science Park High in 2006, Teacher Innovation Grants in 2012 and the Weequahic High homecoming. The photos span at least three superintendents of schools: Marion Bolden (ret. 2008), Clifford Janey (2008-2011) and Cami Anderson (2011-2015). All three are prominent in the photos.
