Eliu Rivera was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, and moved to New Jersey when he was 14 years old. Abstract
Community and political activist in Jersey City. Perfecto Oyola founded the Puertorriqueños Asociados for Community Organization (PACO) in 1970, serving as its first Executive Director until 1987. Oyola was active in securing tenant’s rights, decreasing unemployment and increasing the visibility of Hispanics in local politics.
