Abstract

This collection consists of documents collected by Dr. Flagg related to her work as an educator, and includes publications of the Newark Board of Education, and the New Jersey State Department of Education. The documents include curriculum materials and handbooks, annual and monthly reports, surveys and meeting minutes, as well as agendas, correspondence and mixed publications relating to Dr. Flagg’s other interests, including African-American history.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of the collected papers of Barbara J. Kukla, who has worked in Newark for over fifty years as an author and reporter. These materials were collected by Barbara, both through her work and for personal interest. Some of the significant topics represented in these files are: music, theater, poetry, fine arts, books, African-American heritage and history, African-American life, women’s issues, women’s history, public schools, charter schools, universities, colleges,...

Scope and Contents This collection consists of the two diaries she kept during those years, as well as material inserted into those diaries. The sales receipts, church programs, news clippings, theater programs, and other items have been removed from the diaries and placed in folders. Included are receipts from Bamberger's, L.S. Scope and Contents This collection is comprised of one scrapbook entitled "Current Events in Art" (November 1929 - April 1930). The scrapbook consists of typed lists of monthly "Current Art Talks"; each month's list is followed by clippings, and, in one case, a catalogue for an exhibit of paintings by Emma Fordyce MacRae at the Roerich Museum (1930). Abstract

The Effa Manley Private Business papers consist primarily of correspondence, but also include lists, and a few bills and receipts. The bulk of the material is related to an apartment building owned by Effa Manley and members of her family in Germantown, Pennsylvania, and property owned by Abe Manley in Camden, New Jersey.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of correspondence, clippings, programs, and other items related to Hausmann's singing career. It includes programs from the Griffith Auditorium and the Mosque Theatre (Symphony Hall), as well as other venues.
