This is a collection of materials donated by the Ironbound Community Corporation, a group located in the Ironbound section of Newark. Founded in 1969, ICC works “on a range of neighborhood issues -- from affordable housing and economic development to safe streets, clean air, and educational opportunities for adults and children,” according to its Web site. ICC is funded by foundations, government agencies, and contributions from the community. The Environmental Justice History and Resource Center collection is housed at the Van Buren branch, on Van Buren Street in the Ironbound neighborhood. The collection consists of a five-drawer filing cabinet and two scrapbooks.
