Hilda Hidalgo and Robert Braun appeared on the Front Page Edition with Lee Spinelli to discuss state government’s investigation of the Board of Education in Newark. The Comprehensive Compliant Investigation team reported that the schools were obstructing the investigation and intimidating members of the team. Dr. Hidalgo, Assistant Commissioner to the New Jersey State Department of Education, went to observe the investigation at the request of the commissioner. Robert Braun was the education editor for the Star-Ledger and was invited to document the conditions of the schools. Dr. Hidalgo and Robert Braun recount the state’s investigation and events leading up to their arrest.
