"The Department was one of the thirteen departments established under the Constitution of 1947. The Department was reorganized in 1996 to become the Department of Health and Senior Services, but was reorganized again in 2012 to become the Department of Health. Some programs and services for seniors were transferred to the Department of Human Services at this time.
