Joseph A. Stauhs Collection

Scope and Contents Contents of the collection are as follows:Folder 1: contains black and white photographs (nine 8" x 10" and one 4" x 6") of downtown Newark street scenes, probably taken ca. 1908. The images show street scenes, buildings, pedestrians, trolley cars, horse carts, automobiles, advertising signs, etc. Four are stamped "Wm. M. Broadwell, Commercial Photographer." One of these is captioned "Cor. Market and Washington St. new Bamberger's Empire Theatre in rear. Date 1908." ...

Joseph Kalba Papers

Julius J. Spohn Collection

Abstract

This collection consists of 17 scrapbooks and a half Hollinger box. The scrapbooks house mostly photos. The vast majority of the photos were taken by Newark resident Julius J. Spohn between the 1950s and the first decade of the 21st century. The Hollinger box holds two photocopied publications, and a guide to videos Spohn took in the 1950s and 1960s.

Kathleen P. Galop Collection

Scope and Contents

Much of the collection pertains to Branch Brook Park, Newark, NJ, including materials related to The Newark Cherry Blossom Festival, Historic Register Nomination, Branch Brook Park Alliance, Essex County Parks Department, and research used in Galop’s co-authored book.

There are also materials on the Essex County Park System as a whole, as well as individual parks and projects. Additionally, Galop collected some materials on preservation in Essex County.
