Abstract

The Puerto Rican Action Board was established in 1971 as a private non-profit organization. Its focus is to provide early childhood education, youth development, job assistance, and community advocacy to economically disadvantages families. The organization maintains strong collaborations with agencies and businesses to help meet their goals. The Puerto Rican Action Board, Inc. Records include correspondence, grants, agreements, applications, drafts, proposals related to the weatherization assistance program, safe housing and transportation and division of aging. Also included are amended by laws/ constitution and community housing development organization certification. Additionally, this collection holds records documenting the Puerto Rican Coalition for Childhood Development, including its original certificate of incorporation dated July 13, 1978, the registration information and program of the 9th annual bilingual/ bicultural pre-school education conference held in New Brunswick in 1987, the conference programs from the 3rd annual bilingual/ bicultural preschool education conference in 1979. Also found are the PRCCD membership lists, advisory committee lists, agendas, minutes, correspondence, bank statements, and certificates.
