This subseries contains correspondence between Dr. Hidalgo and her colleagues, students, friends, professional contacts, and other community organizers; also included in this subseries are letters of recommendations concerning Dr. Hidalgo’s candidacy for the presidency of Hostos Community College in the Bronx, New York. Correspondence documenting Dr. Hidalgo’s time in the Greater Newark Urban Coalition is present. In the “Miscellaneous Correspondence” folders, the items are arranged chronologically and cover such diverse topics as the date of Dr. Hidalgo’s confirmation in her local parish, personal letters to her nieces and nephews, and a draft of a letter of invitation to her 70th birthday party which is printed with photocopied pictures of Dr. Hidalgo as an infant and at 70 years of age. Also included in this subseries is correspondence documenting the steps she has taken towards being awarded her doctorate from The Union Institute.
