Daniel P. Quinn is a Newark-based theater director and producer. He donated the material in this collection, which includes newspaper and magazine articles, programs, fliers, and correspondence related to his career. Also included are some photographs of employees of the Bamberger's department store in the 1930s and 1940s. Quinn's mother worked for the company during those years.

Biographical / Historical

Daniel P. Quinn is a theater producer/director and playwright who lives in in Newark. He has been working in professional theater across northern New Jersey since the 1970s. This collection includes material related to his career. There are also photographs from the Bamberger's department store that once belonged to his mother, who worked for the company during the 1930s and 1940s.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Donated by Daniel P. Quinn. The initial donation was made in June 2021, and added to in August 2021, March 2022, and May 2022.

Separated Materials

Two posters were removed from the collection, and added to the NJ Poster collection:

A. 118th Annual Feast of St. Gerard Maiella (2017)--St. Lucy's Church, Newark.

B. Exits and Entrances, Producing Off-Broadway, Opera & Beyond: 1981-2006 [poster for one of Quinn's books]

Processing Information

The materials were in no particular order when they were donated. The smaller items were divided into three folders: one folder for news clippings, the other for fliers and other printed material, and a third for photographs. Larger items were folded and placed in the box outside of folders.
