Newark Audio Collection
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of 33.5 rpm and 45rpm phonograph records in 7", 10" and 12" formats. The collection also consists of 1/4" audio reel to reels and cassette tapes.

Conditions Governing Access
The NJ Room currently has no equipment to play the phonographs and reel to reel audio. Cassette tapes can be digitized in the NJ Room, for digital playback, upon request.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The exact provenance of these audio materials is unknown and the collection is considered an artificial collection comprised of many past donors. The bulk of these materials were acquired between the 1970's and 1980's. 2000's era recordings of library programs and Newark History Society talks were likely recorded by library staff.
