Proclamation for City of Newark, 2005-12-16
Scope and Contents
Series 3 includes a wide range of personal and biographical material. Most notable is material from Newark and New Jersey events Brinson attended, including material from local nightclubs and bands.
Also notable, is Brinson’s resume, and related material including letters of recommendation. Also in this series is Brinson’s notebook (handwritten notes, as well as pasted items of interested), collection of news
and magazine clippings (mostly 2000s), a collection of business cards (wide range of businesses throughNewark and NJ), information on the Circle of Gold, address lists, poetry, stamp collection, general
correspondence, sketches, and general invoices.
Some of the material in Series 3 overlaps with Brinson’s publishing career, as he certainly attended many Newark events in that capacity. Material is sorted by type or subject. Correspondence and invoices that could be linked to a certain organization or magazine, as well as lithographic printing invoices, were put in the relevant folders in Series 1 (Correspondence: Box 1, Folders 1-4, Folders 11-12, 16, Invoices: Box 1, Folders 13-14, 16, 19).
