    Biographical / Historical

The Newark Public Library was historically a center for state documents, and remains so, although most documents are now digital.

Two sections include State Commissions and Interstate Commissions, which are divided in Permanent and Temporary Commissions (PC or TIC). This is based on whether the Commission was created as Permanent or created as a Temporary Commission or Committee.

All the documents were organized in a card file.

For commissions and committees, historically, staff also recorded on each card the resolution or law, which created each commission.
