Sculpture and decorative arts -- "Newark lost and found", c. 1999, photocopied material 1914-1989
Scope and Contents
This subseries, related to Cummings’ “Knowing Newark” columns published in the Newark StarLedger (1996-2005), comprises notes, drafts, chronologies, and lists; research material consisting primarily of photocopies of clippings (obituaries, news items, etc.), and articles; and a small number of pamphlets or printed materials such as “Bamberger’s Guide to Wine,” c. 1930s (Box 3, Folder 15). The subject of these columns is Newark, but Cummings often situates Newark in state and national history and affairs. Some of the research material may also be associated with other projects, including exhibits or books.
A complete run of the “Knowing Newark” columns (March 7, 1996 to December 29, 2005) is available in the CFC-NJIC.
The material is arranged alphabetically by subject. The dates of photocopied material are bracketed.
