    Biographical / Historical

    The Hospital of St. Barnabas was founded in 1865 and incorporated in 1867 as the first incorporated hospital in New Jersey. The Hospital for Women and Children incorporated 1884.

    According to the hospital, they officially merged in 1932, however, we have documents using the name starting in 1931.

    In 1956 the hospital relocated to Livingston see: Saint Barnabas Medical Center
