Abstract The collection consists of two scrapbooks compiled by Walter Edward Blythe and Robert Arthur Illig. They contain illustrations relating to the history of Newark, clipped from local newspapers (the Newark Sunday Call, the Newark Evening News, the Newark Star-Eagle, etc.). The illustrations, cut out and neatly mounted on scrapbook pages, are annotated with the date of publication. These binders were in the Office of Planning, Zoning and Sustainability. Clippings, however, are not limited to planning but cover many events, mostly Newark, from 1980-1997.

There are a small amount of planning documents such as a newsletter and a budget mixed in with the clippings. Additionally articles were often pasted on the backs of planning department documents (presumably no longer needed).
