This collection includes photographs of the family, family papers (including a high school graduation program and a biography page from John Kalba's high school yearbook (1932), military documents, an obituary for Joseph Kalba, and Joseph Kalba's World War II medals, dog-tags, and hats.

Biographical / Historical
David and Theudosia Kalba were born in Ukraine and immigrated to the US between 1905-1910. The Kalba family lived at 327 South Sixth Street, Newark, NJ prior to the start of World War II. Their three sons, Michael (1912-1997), John (1914-1998), and Joseph (1916-1998) were all born in Jersey City, but attended West Side High School in Newark. All three sons served in WWII. Joseph Kalba married Mary Dudak (daughter of Roman and Helen, 1918-2014) on 9/29/1945 in Newark, NJ. Joseph and Mary raised their children in Irvington, NJ, before moving to Point Pleasant, NJ in 1970.
