Scope and Contents

This collection contains materials related to Miss Townsend's School, a private secondary school for girls in Newark. Included are copies of the Sphinx, the school's literary magazine, from 1908 and 1909. Also included are commencement programs and invitations (1906-1909), programs from school plays and recitals, and a booklet of songs written for the school by Frances Leavitt.

Abstract

This collection consists of photographs, certificates, passports, clippings, ephemera, and oral histories reflecting the Greek-American community of Newark, NJ during the 20th century.

This collection consists of material gathered by architectural historian Lars DeLagerberg for his book, "New Jersey Architecture: Colonial and Federal" (privately printed by Walter Whittum, Inc., 1956). The book consists mostly of drawings and photographs by DeLagerberg, with brief identifying captions.

Scope and Contents The collection is comprised of correspondence, exhibition catalogues, notices, invitations and posters, membership lists, and published articles and reviews. Although some artists are not identified as to their place of residence or place of work, Newark venues and individuals with Newark connections, are well represented. Scope and Contents This collection contains invitations received by Charles F.
