 Item — Box: OV_SZ 2

Scope and Contents

Hilda Hidalgo appeared on the Spanish language show, Cristina, to discuss how a homosexual lifestyle affected people over the age of 50. Dr. Hidalgo believed that she was the only lesbian person in the world until she found books about the topic in a library. She told her sisters first about her sexuality and they continued to accept her. Dr. Hidalgo explained that one’s sexuality is not the only aspect of a person’s life and that she wanted the people she cared about to know her true identity.
