Scope and Contents
A remarkably rich scrapbook of a New Jersey girl's life. Each page contains one or more pasted objects from special events. Next to the item she has carefully described the event, noting who was present, what happened, whether she enjoyed it, etc. There are many dance cards, party favors, souvineers, napkins, buttons, etc. Some items are from benefit events for WWI.

Biographical / Historical
Natalie A. Cole was born on April 4, 1900 in New York but grew up in East Orange on Stockton Place. Her parents were Allen Cole and Carrie Cole nee Thompson. She had one younger brother Allen Cole Jr.
Natalie attended Columbian School which was in the building in East Orange that was later George Washington Carver Academy.
Natalie married Edward Westervelt in Sept 1927 at St. Thomas's Church in Newark. They had one son, Robert. Natalie died on September 30, 1991.
