John B. Ehrhardt Papers
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of writings, speeches, and incoming and copies of outgoing correspondence, mostly on aspects of New Jersey history unrelated to Newark. The clippings, notes, and typescripts relate to Ehrhardt's historical work and include texts of talks delivered before local historical societies by Eberhardt and others. Hewark-related items include aA 1966 letter signed "Frank," containing reminiscences of Newark Evening News reporter. There is also an exchange of letters with the Reverend Henry Charlton Beck, Newark-born author of several studies of historic New Jersey towns. Beck was a columnist on historical subjects for the Newark Star-Ledger. The Beck correspondence contains few Newark-related references.
