Scope and Contents
This collection consists of two rehoused scrapbooks featuring images of Newark, particularly the Forest Hill neighborhood, as well as several criminal court reports from Newark in the early 20th century. Included is a small amount of material not related to Newark. Scrapbook #1, Folder # 1: Separated pages from a booklet, About Forest Hill : a strictly residential suburb [n.d.] featuring maps and images of the neighborhood, as well as text from the Forest Hill Association. Also in this folder are two photos of Weequahic Park in 1925, and diagrams of St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City from the 1960s. Scrapbook #1, Folder #2: Copies of reports from the Second Criminal Court of the City of Newark, 1907-1910. Also a page featuring color photos of the ocean liner Asama Maru, 1933. Biographical / Historical
Martin Reichenbecher (1914-1981) served on the Newark Police Department from 1947 to 1979, retiring as Deputy Chief. The collection consists of two rehoused scrapbooks featuring images of Newark, particularly the Forest Hill neighborhood, as well as several criminal court reports from Newark in the early 20th century. Also included is a small amount of material not related to Newark.
