Newark Memorial Tablet Evaluation Forms
Scope and Contents
This small collection contains evaluation forms for commemorative tablets and plaques in Newark, compiled for the Newark Historic Inventory in 1990-1992 by the city's official historian, Charles F. Cummings (1937-2007). Information collected in the inventory includes: name or title of historical tablet; location/address; a photocopy of documentation and/or wording of tablet; condition of tablet and/or site; description of site; photograph of tablet and/or site; name of evaluator; name of photographer; and comments or recommendations.
The plaques and tablets described in the inventory include:
City Hall, dedication plaque; City Hall Annex, plaque; City Hall Annex plaque No.2; Newark International Airport, Terminal C plaque; Essex County Court House - Time Capsule; Essex County Court House as a National Landmark; Peter W. Rodino, Jr. recognition tablet; Essex County Court House remodeled plaque; Essex County Hall of Records entry steps dedication plaque; Essex County Court House completion tablet; Essex County Hall of Records plaque; the Gettysburg Address plaque; Randall D. Warden plaque; Joseph A. Pocchio plaque; and the Joseph P. Lordi plaque.
