Scope and Contents
The scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, photographs, and scorecards related to Fava and the various athletic teams on which he played in high school, college, and as an adult; newspaper clippings related to the engagement and marriage of Fava and Angie Frederici; and family photographs.

Biographical / Historical
Philip Fava, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Fava of 220 South Street, was a pitcher for South Side High School and center on the school's football team, and was chosen for the All-Newark High School football team in 1914. Fava attended Tufts University where he played baseball and basketball. Upon graduating from medical school, Fava was employed as a staff physician at St. Michael's Hospital and Newark City Hospital, and played on the hospital staff baseball team. Fava married Angie Eleanor Frederici of Orange.
