Scope and Contents
Series 2 consists of material Brinson likely acquired via his city career and political work. The first folder in the series contains material on Newark and NJ Elections. The following folders contain materials from Brinson’s work with the Human Rights Commission and Housing Authority, including materials from trainings and conferences attended. This material is sorted chronologically. Of note, are the materials in Box 4, Folder 2, which consist of forms to file grievances with the Newark Human Rights Commission. Also interesting are materials from a conference on women’s rights, and the Equal Rights Amendment, which took place in Newark, hosted by the Women’s Affirmative Action Committee of the New Jersey Industrial Union Council AFL-CIO [box 4, folders 5-6].
