Folder 2: Early family photos, including a portrait of Samuel Finklestein in Washington Park and a portrait of his parents with their three sons (both 1914); other photos of Samuel Finklestein's parents; the interior of Julius S. Klein’s butcher shop on Springfield Avenue (early; with employees; notes on back of a copy identify Julius and two of his sons, Sam and Jake, with additional notes on Julius and his wife by their granddaughter, Julienne); faded photo of exterior of Klein’s shop; two laminated obituaries for Samuel Finklestein’s brother Louis; Maple Avenue School graduation photo (1930s?); Newark News clipping (Nov 9, 1915), Samuel Finklestein made editor in chief of NJ Law Review at NJ Law School; snapshots of Hattie, and Hattie’s mother, Babette; an elementary school class with teacher, ca. 1900, including Samuel B. Finkelstein. NOTE: One photo is of Harry and Yvonne Bauer, friends of Sam and Hattie Finklestein. According to family tradition, Harry was the World War I telegrapher who sent the message of the Armistice to the U.S. by Morse Code. Yvonne was a war bride from France. The photo was taken by George Van.
